"Not working as expected"
I had high hopes for this collar, having heard from other people that it seemed to work for them. We purchased two when Jeffers had a buy one, get one for half price sale. They may work for fleas (we've never had a flea problem here, so I can't really say), but they only sorta-kinda work for the ticks. We live in NH and are infested with all kinds of ticks including the dreaded deer tick. While we did find a couple of dead ticks early on, after the first couple of weeks we've been regularly pulling off partially to fully engorged ticks. There *may* be fewer ticks latching on than without the collars, but still plenty enough to cause irritation to the dogs and infection if the ticks are carrying any diseases. I do not think these collars work as well as the top spot type products like Frontline Plus, etc.
I have a Jack Russell that had flea allergies and almost lost all of his hair. This collar took care of the fleas and he has a fine coat of hair. He has had one of these on him every 8 months for the last three years
"long lasting flea collar"
No more pills or hated drops on the back of the neck. This collar works & lasts 8 months. This is the second one I've purchased & my daughter uses it for her dog & cats. Seems pricey until you compare what you spend on the pills or drops. Happy dog, happy me.
"Seresto Flea Collars"
Last year was the first time I had used the Seresto flea and tick collars and was very pleased. We live on 10 acres and plenty of room to get buggy. I just recently purchased collars from Jeffers, for almost half price of the vet price, for 6 dogs, large and small and also our cats. Jeffers is great with delivery too. Thank you Jeffers
"Okay so far"
As always, Jeffers price is very good. I bought it because my husband had brought home some flea infested rescues without checking them first. My dogs and cat and house were soon infested, too. The spot on stuff was getting tedious and messy, so I am giving this a try. It took a couple of days for the collar to take effect, but it seems to be keeping the fleas off. I also haven't noticed any ticks taking hold, either, and we have lots of those around! I am hoping it will work the entire 8 months as advertised. Fingers crossed!
Works as advertised and cost less than purchasing at the vet clinic.
"Not soo great!"
Works, but not as well as the drops. I can definitely tell a difference from having nothing, but this collar on a large Jack Russell, doesn't quite cut if for me. Drops worked better for years, now with the collar, seeing 3 to 4 fleas on the dog after a week of use. Sub-par protection if you ask me.
"Worked for 2 months only"
Bought these collars for my 2 dogs and 3 cats. Worked for about 2 months. I now have fleas in my house and have been pulling ticks off my dogs. Cheaper to buy Advantix, etc since it didn't work long. Not impressed with this high dollar stuff.
Use this on my shihtzu who cannot handle topical flea treatments and I'm odd to give anything oral ... he's had it on now for a year and a half and STILL no fleas nor ticks and trust me, we've tested it out .. as we're hikers and take him all the time ... and we live on 5 acres surrounded with trees and grass. Our pit mix also wears one and she stays WET during the summer and loves her pool ... and she too, goes hiking ... as with any treatment .. you have to be responsible at home as well .. treat the areas around your home and their beds .... we live in the south so cleanliness and keeping areas tidy and pest free is also a good way for most treatments to be effective .... :)
I have used these collars for 3 years now. It appears to be effective against fleas but I don't have a problem with fleas much in my area. I can say that for ticks they are amazing. I live in a heavy tick area and my dog is in brush a lot tracking. This collar is well worth the price and really does last the amount of time advertised.
"I heard about this product from my vet"
I heard about this product from my vet. Cringed at the price BUT we put it on my cat(at the vet, had an appt AUGUST) who was loaded with fleas(in 16 yrs she has never had them or very few, house cat) By the time we got home (30 Minutes) she had stopped scratching. SHE Is still wearing it!!!!!
purchased from vet with the promise of no ticks for 8 months (give or take) but would have been happy to make it until September. On in May with 1st tick removed June 10. Shocked that Bayer produces this inferior product. Prevent Tick works and this junk has been replaced for $13 - old faithful!
"more expensive is not better"
i thought buying the most expensive collars would put my mind at ease with the fleas on my 4 dogs.they never had them that bad but didnt like doing the drops every month or trying to remember the date to do them so i decided to go with the collars that would last up to 8 months.purchased them around march started seeing my dogs scratching in may gave them a flea dip thinking the collars had not kicked in yet saw my older dog who is 14 losing her balance alot so checked her again and she was covered again in fleas really bad this time my fault for not checking my dogs more often. it was a 256.00 mistake for believing what i read. ive removed all collars from my dogs they are no good and will not purchase anything like this again to bad they dont have a refund on these types of things i feel they owe me my money back
I bought this collar from our Vet. I put it on our 4 month old Yorkie one evening and the next morning she was really sick. She threw up 4 times, wouldn't eat, and was lethargic. We took the collar off and the next day she was better, no more throwing up.
Worked for 8 full months on my Brittany, even durring hunting season where he was wet at least twice a day. Ordering a replacement as this one is now almost 10 months old.
