I think they would have been great bell boots if I could've gotten them on! My horse stood there for probably 10 minutes wihile I fought with these things every which way to attempt to pull them on but I got nowhere. I ordered a black large for my 16.2 hand qh/tb and he has little twinkle toes wearing a 00 in shoes.
"Longest lasting bell boots!!"
The black rubber seemed so stiff at first I almost sent them back. But I was in a pinch and really needed bell boots for turnout, so I put them on my horse. Much to my surprise, they are no harder to put on than any other pull ons, size is true, length is perfect, and they did not rub my horse at all. My horse has worn the black ones turned out 24/7 for the past 3 years, and each pair has lasted about a year. Incredible.
Love these and the price! I normally get the gum for my SSH gelding and they last him about 2 1/2 months. Mind you he has bad bad over reach and wears them 24/7 on trails and in pasture. I'm going to try the black ones and see if they are a little stiffer and will last longer.
"Bell Boots that Stay ON!!"
My horse is a Houdini. He can get out of anything and I was CONSTANTLY looking for velcroes boots until I tried these. He has only gotten out of them one time. They are not real easy for us gals to put on, BUT they are even harder for the horse to get them off! GREAT for the price!
"Great For Turnout"
Bought these last winter for turnout use. Did not rub cornet band. Didn't get hard and not effected by cold, snow and ice. Nice thick rubber but not too difficult to get on. Will buy another set for next winter.
"Best over-reach (bell) boots"
Great for competition and can be left on for turnout --- provides good protection for coronet, and does not seem to bother the horses.
I've tried the more expensive pairs, and always seem to come back to these! Durable, and won't rub your horse when left on for turnout.
