"Best Rolled Collar Ever"
I bought these collars for my Sheltie, Wire Fox Terrier, and German Shepherd all of which are very active dogs. They all go swimming in the water troughs with their collars on and haven't had a problem with them. I have had them 5 plus years and no problems.
"Not a good collar"
"I purchased this collar for my 9 week old australian shepherd. I bought an 11"" collar thinking he could grow into it since he is wearing a 9"" now. It fit him on the loosest hole and even then it was too tight. The end was hard to pass through the buckle. And the smell was awful! He only wore it for about a minute and I can still smell the fishy odor on his coat. Never purchasing one of these collars again."
"Excellent for the price!"
I am using these on two buck goats and they have worked wonderfully. I don't like flat collars and the rolled is comfortable when I have to take them by the collar without a lead. For the price, these are an excellent value and I am buying more for my dairy does.
"4-star product for a 1 star price"
"Excellent value. Never noticed any fish oil smell; rivets lasted well over a year for an active dog tied out on an overhead zip line. DID notice shrinkage, but only after I allowed the collar to dry in the sun. Was utterly useless after that. If left to dry on the dog after a bath (with collar on during bath), I did not notice the shrinkage, probably because the leather was ""worked"" as the dog dried. Several of the collars had ""Weaver"" stamped on the leather. I bought the round ones and my dog stopped scratching around her neck; evidently the edges of flat collars drive her nuts."
"Great for the price"
"I bought this collar becuase I wanted a cheap leather collar for my large breed puppy. I knew the pup was going to out grow anything in a month regardless, and I figured that I could stand to lose a few dollars if it was as bad as the reviews said. I was really pleasantly surprised. It does not have a smell nor does it rub off on her fur, so they must have corrected these problems. She is indoor/outdoor, very active and loves to swim in the pond, and the ONLY flaw with the collar thus far is that there are some ""rubbed raw"" spots in the leather that would probably not happen with better quality leather. Given the abuse my pup puts it through, it really is worth it and looks/feels so much better than nylon and it has plenty of holes for adgustment. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for long term, but it has held up GREAT over the past 2 months on my very active puppy, though I will probably upgrade when she reaches her full size."
Nice Collar for the price. I didn't have any hint of a fish smell in the collar. I oping this issue was corrected. I only bought one, but will be purchasing more since I had good results
I purchased three of these collars thinking with the Jeffers name they would be great. The rivets have pulled out of all three collars, they DO stink horribly. They have not stopped smelling even after showering the dogs with collars on. They are made in India. I really thought with the Jeffers name they would have been at least of a decent quality. Buyer Beware. Stay away from these collars.
"Not worthy of the Jeffers name"
"I will be returning these collars. While I did not expect a whole lot based on the price, I thought they would be at least made from lower grade U.S. leather since the description says ""supple leather"" and the picture looked fine. These are made from very low quality indian leather that smells like fish oil. I have bought Indian leather horse tack which did not smell or feel like these collars. The hardware was crooked on one of the collars and neither had symmetrical stitching. I will not use these on my dogs. This product is not worthy of the Jeffers name. Loved all the other products in my order, however. Shipping is prompt. "
