    "Tip: apply outside!"

After the first application, we decided to apply outdoors due to the strong smell. She really hated the first indoor application, but when I applied at the start of a 3 mile walk, she wasn't bothered in the least by the smell and was happy during her walk. Even enlosed in my tiny car (Great Dane in a Chevy Spark - a Marmaduke moment if I ever knew one), the smell wasn't at all bad after airing out over the three miles. Repels fleas very well, and with an outdoor application, I have no complaints on the smell. And you definitely can't beat the price. I probably won't use this on my indoor cat, however, due to the strong smell.

    "Still using after two years"

I'm still using this product on all three dogs and our cat after two years. It's still working, yes, it does smell quite strong of citronella for a day or two and it does leave oil on their coats where applied, but it is so worth it not having to use toxic chemicals! We have moved to a small farm and the dogs are running in the woods. Still no ticks or fleas!

    "didn't work"

I wanted to try this since it was all natural. The smell is very strong plus it leaves oil in your dogs fur. I tried it most of the summer and now I am fighting fleas. I have tried everything and can't get rid of them. Will not use again.

"very strong smell, stains white dogs"

Very, very strong spice smell. I expected some, but not strong enough to fill my entire 2 story home! This is even with the dogs kenneled in their room until the stuff dried. I would not recommend if you have a white dog. Our American bulldog now has a huge orangish-yellow mess all down her back (we applied yesterday) house still smells very strong, my daughter and I both woke up with headaches. I'd say it works, if I were a flea, I wouldn't get close to them either!!

"Didn't work for me..and made my dog sick!"

"I too was looking for a ""Natural"" flea and tick treatment and decided to try this product. The first day after applying the product, my dog.. how should I say...was not handling it very well! Whether it was the scent or the ingredients, (I don't know which), he was ""spaced-out"" and his breathing became labored. Since this is supposed to be all natural ingredients...I second guessed as to whether the treatment was the cause or something else was wrong. I waited till the next day to make a decision on whether or not to take him to the vet. (he had improved overnight so I decided not to make a vet call). It has been 4 days since the application and he STILL has fleas! He actually has more on him now, than before I applied the treatment! Now, I am giving him a good bath and starting over with something else. With my experience, I would not recommend this product to anyone, unless you want to spend money on the ""idea"" of using a natural treatment."

    "Works Great"

With 4 dogs and a warm winter I was looking for something affordable for fleas and ticks. While grooming my poodles I noticed some fleas and decided to try this. It's been 2 months and not a flea or tick in sight. Works great,I highly recommend trying it. Yes the clove smell is a bit strong for a couple days but not obnoxious. Actually the house never smelled so good.

    "Love this product"

"Really love this product, my lab would vomit right after we used the other ""big name brands"", this does not bother her at all. It works, it does have a strong odor so I put it on her before she is about to be outside for an extended time. After a few hours it's not too noticeable and after a day it's fine. It just smells like a Citronella candle, not horrible. I didn't see any ticks or fleas all summer."

    "Natural Defense "

I have used this product for 1 yr. My dog likes it and I do too...I am allergic to most chemicals and I can tolerate this one. I wanted to find something natural w/o chemicals to use on my dog. She has not had any fleas or ticks either. The cinnamon is stronger than I would like but overall I will continue to use this product on my pet.

"Dogs HATE this!!! Found a tick too!"

I abhor chemicals, especially around family and our pets. We lost two dogs to cancer after using the once a month products. Whether their deaths were because of this or not, I no longer want to take chances. Thus, I bought this insectiside-free preventative. Though, it sounds great, reality of it is different. Our dogs can't handle the smell and run outside and try to rub it off. The scent is overwhelming and lingers a day or two in the house. The scent overwhelmed their keen senses so much they were depressed and lethargic the rest of the day. The 2nd time we applied it we applied just a dab to each dog and the reaction was the same. Thus, I can't recommend this product. If the dog can't stand it, is it really worth it? It didn't help that a week after application, we found a tick on our Husky girl. Guess I'll have to find something else.

    "It Works"

Wanted to at least try this and see if it would work in the south where the ticks and fleas get horrible. Well, it does work. Not one tick on the dog, no sign of fleas, no worries about over dosing, no chemicals, and it's far cheaper. I'll definitely be using this in the future. One tip though, don't get this anywhere your eyes (or anything that has mucus membrane), or your pets, because the clove oil will drive you crazy.

    "Great Safe Product!"

My husband took the dog with him mushroom hunting this year, my husband came back covered in ticks and my dog did not have one tick on him. Thank you Natural Denfense for a safe option to the other chemical flea and tick control. We love the smell!

    "Excellant Product"

I was very happy and pleased to find a non poisonous product that worked! My dog Buddy would turn on his back, twist and turn to rub off the flea and tick product I would toplically apply. It obviously burned him. It did NOT bother me but the smell of the product Sentry, bothered my husband. The combination of the Cin + Clove + Pep + Thyme was something he didn't want to deal with. Well, it works and I don't have to worry about over dosing my awesome pet companions. Natuaral Defense IS something I would recommend. Yes, I am one who overdosed my furry companions. It will never happen again. I got them to the Vet IN plenty of time!! I still have them with me. Just try one month and you will understand what I mean.
