For trimming overgrown hooves on horses and cattle with hoof on ground.
30" long with wood handles.
I use these on my drafts and a thoroughbred. You just have to watch out that you don't dull the blades by nicking a rock on the ground. My horses don't mind having their feet trimmed with these. Of course you still have to pick up the foot to finish the trim, but these get the main part done.
I have Draft horses with thick hooves. Regular nippers do not work on everything and sometimes you need the big guns. Once you learn how to use them these trimmers work easily to remove excess hoof material and and I finish with the regular nippers to make them pretty. We have a brood mare that will kick your teeth in if you try to pick her back feet up. With these trimmers she stands still and gets her feet done without a fuss. The only drawback is there are no instructions on how to use them. Look at the picture on the handle closely, Thats how they work
I find that these are no good for any kind of hoof trimming the blades are to thick and the trimmers themselves are to big and awkward to handle. they do however work pretty good for trimming brush as you can trim it real close to the ground without bending to much.
