"Using The Same One Since Late 1990s"
We are Using The Same One Since Late 1990s without any trouble. We shear several miniature llamas each year. They aren't heavy, relatively quiet, and don't hesitate to shear through the thickest fiber using the proper blade. Blow the dust and debris out of your llama and you're good to go. Like any good clippers/shears you need to oil and clean regularly. You treat this clipper right they will treat you right!! If they would ever die, I would buy them again.
I've been clipping for over 20 years. I've had Osters and Andis, and various models of each. These are the best clippers I've used. They cut very well and do not make any lines. They do run hot, so I oil and dip frequently. They are not as loud as the others and are lightweight. Highly recommend.
"Priced Right, Good Clippers"
Have used a pair of these to clip 40+ goats and they just keep going. Very loud, the vibration in your hand is exhausting. The process to take apart and clean the blades (should be done OFTEN) is a pain. But over all excellent clippers that do their job well!
"Burnt out after 4 years!!!!!"
Not worth the money, i would reccoment the premier clippers instead.
"Very Loud, but Clips anything"
I have owned this set of clippers for about 10 years. I bought it to clip my horse with Cushings Syndrome. It would go through any type of hair, but is super loud. I tried adjusting the tightness of the blades, etc and nothing helped with the noise. The only other compaint is the blades are very expensive to replace. Other than that, it makes the body clipping of a horse go pretty fast.
"Worth the money!"
The STAR clippers by Listar are by far my favorite clippers for body clipping horses. They are much lighter weight than the old style clippers and the design of the body of the clippers are very comfortable in your hand. I used to have to use a smaller set of clippers to clip my horse?ÇÖs legs below the knee but with the shorter more compact design of the STAR clippers I can clip his entire body with one set of clippers. It makes for a cleaner look when I?ÇÖm finished and doesn?ÇÖt require me to clean up two sets of clippers afterwards. The motor is not as loud as older style clippers either which is nice. I have had no problems with theses clippers over the 5 years that I have owned them and have clipped 4 ?Çô 5 horses each winter with them. I would highly recommend as a reliable product and well worth the money.
