Description

Kamar Heatmount Detectors are a valuable heat detection aid that assist in identifying cows ready for artificial breeding. The detectors are a pressure sensitive device with a built-in timing mechanism designed to be activated by standing heat behavior. Glued onto the sacrum (tail head), pressure from the brisket of a mounting animal requires approximately 3 seconds to turn the detector from white to red. This timing mechanism helps distinguish between true standing heat versus false mounting activity. Standing heat behavior in the bovine is the most reliable sign that a cow is ready to be bred.

    "Not worth it"

I bought 25 of these patches for our small dairy herd as we AI 100%. I had not used them before. First, they are messy; the cows tail flick them off the back before they can set. So we tied tails back and glued while milking. So far they have failed to detect all but 1 cow; and yes I used the pattern in the kit. I will never buy these again, a total waste of money but more important two months of heat detection.

    "kamar patches"

I have used kamar patch with the glue an the same with the pell off backs an others but it seems like the patch you have put the glue on is the best for me case i have problems with the peel off backs coming off during the heat cycle.
