"Did the job!"
My horse has Cushings so he needs an entire body clip. The extremely thick, long hair can get very dirty and sweaty. Grit is left next to the skin in places even after a thorough bath. When I used normal clippers, the blades dulled quickly and the motor was totally overworked. After burning up a new Turbo A5 2-speed clippers, I decided to try these clippers. They have held up well (two seasons) and take the hair off in half the time of regular clippers. They are extremely safe to use, however, I highly recommend using the spray cooling lube frequently to prevent the blades from getting too hot. The clippers are a bit large and cumbersome for hard to clip areas so regular clippers work best there. Otherwise, they are fast and effective on the rest of the body. Clipper blades are easy to remove/replace and it is easy to clean. I am very pleased with these clippers for this type of heavy duty job.
When I started using these clippers I really liked them. They remove the hair easily, and seem to work really well. I have never had a problem with them running badly, but they get HOT FAST! It's hard to tell when holding them normally, but the blades get hot enough to burn skin extremely fast. I also have a huge problem with the blades used for it. You have to use them at exactly the right angle, because the tips of the blades are ridiculously sharp! ive cut my fingers on them, and cut my horse accidentally on more than one occasion. I do not recommend buying these clippers! Oster has made some great clippers, and I love their brand, but these are not worth the $250.
