"Loose screw problem solved!"
THE BEST boots on the market when sized/fitted properly & hooves are trimmed correctly. A simple solution to loose screws is to get some Loc-tite (available at your local auto-parts store), partially unscrew the boot hardware, apply Loc-tite to threads, & re-tighten screws. Once it sets hey'll be difficult to undo with a screwdriver!
The best boot I've ever used. You do have to check the screws but even if they come out they are easy to replace. The boots stay on in water, deep mud, snow, tall grass and brush. My horse used to overreach and broke several different styles of boots. She loves her Gloves and they're a snap to put on! The only reason I don't give 'em five stars is that I do have to replace the gaiters about every three months or so. But as stated above I tend to ride on pretty rough terrain! I've been using the same pair for over two years, but I've gone through five or six sets of gaiters. If the boot stretch out and won't stay on, they're too big. Get the next size down! I do recommend using pads, just ride slow the first day so the pads compact down or you could lose your boot and probably rip a gaiter in the process. You'll need to replace the pads every 20-30 rides. I use old foam floor mats!
Easy on and off, but screws pulled out when riding and almost lost boot. They did not have 10 rides on them. Never used them in mud.
"Easy Boot Glove"
My experience with using Easy Boot Gloves has been positive for the most part. I did have one boot to tear up on the trail but I take part ownership as a screw came loose...and I now realize I should check the screws before every ride to make certain they are not loose...just like I would other tack. I bought the power straps for a more secure fit. I would like to see these straps packaged with the boot the people I hear complain about keeping this boot off didn't know about the power strap. At the price point of this boot it should include the power strap in my opinion. I ride 5-6 hours in these boots and even canter my horse. So far, no problems with rubbing sores on the heal bulb...for which I'm grateful.
"not a boot that lasts"
I bought a pair of these boots to use o a tender footed horse on our rocky trails. This boot did not hold up. After 3 -4 rides it stretched and would flop back and forth, all the screws came out and it wore so thin that the horse was tender in the toes. I would not purchase these again
I am very happy with this boot. I have used the Easyboot Epics in the past and it was not uncommon for them to come lose. The new gloves are amazing. I recently went trail riding with my mare down at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park (very nice place) and the boots stayed on perfectly through rocks, sand, stepe hills and very sloshy/sucky mud. I even took her up a spring bed with soft sinking sand and the boots were still on her feet when we got out. My mare's movement was fluid and unless you were looking for it, it's hard to tell that she had boots on at all. I really like the slim profile. All in all an excellent boot. I would recommend ordering the sizing fit kit however. By the chart my mare would be a two, but the 1.5 is what actually fit her feet. I also used them with the power strap. The straps are a little fussy to instal but once on they don't make for any more trouble getting the boot on. Oh, and I forgot to mention, these boots are a breeze to get on. No more fussing with cables and straps! We rode for 5 hours and the boots (minus the mud) looked like new. No scuffs or tears anywhere. I WILL be ordering another pair for her back feet when we hit the mountains.
