Really great product. Cleared up those stinky ears. It does however leave a residue on the fur that needs wiped off.
Just wanted to give an update on this -- My same yellow lab (see previous post) also has issue with yeast that leads to raw spots under his arms, and hot spots on his neck. I pay a lot of attention to drying him off after walks, baths, and swimming. One thing that REALLY seems to help -- I use this Boracetic acid on his feet. or if i see a raw spot coming on. I rub a few drops around his pads on the bottom and between his toes. The tell-tale red hair, frito-feet smell, and hair loss all goes away with regular use. I also think that this helps with controlling hot spots, because he doesn't spread the yeast from his feet if he scratches at his collar. Between this and lemon juice rinses after a bath, he's a new dog!
"Horse Trough Ears! Yikes!"
I have three labs, and a lot of the time have some lab puppies. Unfortunately our yellow English lab is prone to nasty ear infection from jumping in the horse water. Then it gets so irritating for her she scratches until her ear bleeds. I have been using this for two days. I hope it works. I used it yesterday at 5am(wake uptime) and later that day her ear seemed less red and less irritated.
"Lab's Chronic Ear Improves"
My Lab's last visit to the vet for red, inflamed ear cost $64. I ordere a bottle of Davis Ear/Med and flushed his ear well, keeping the liquid in for 5 mins., then letting him shake. Next day, noticeably less redness. Am using it daily until ear completely normal. What an incredible product, guaranteed to keep me out of the poorhouse!
"Great for Maintenance"
I have outside dogs, so there's lots of opportunity for ear issues. I use this about once a week for maintenance, and my dogs ears stay clean. Sometimes I only rub the ears with a cotton swab rather than flush, because their ears are so clean. I recently rescued a pup from the ditch, and used it daily for about 10 days to get her ears clean, and now she's on the weekly maintenance schedule too. As one of the other commenters noted -- the key is maintenance.
"Great ear protection."
I have a three year old weimaraner. He has always been pron to ear infections. Even yeast infections. I tried the vet advissed solutions and they worked, but are very exspensive. So I tried Davis, and must say that I am very glad that I did. Not only is it just as good as the vet recommendations, but for a whole lot less money. Just remember preventive care is usually the best care.
