Never leave a pet unattended with any treat or toy!
"NEEDS SMALL FOOD "
THIS IS A NEAT IDEA BUT THE HOLE FOR THE FOOD OR TREATS TO COME OUT IS VERY SMALL. MAKE SURE TO GET TRAINING SIZE TREATS OR PUPPY SIZED KIBBLE.
"Keeps Puppy Busy"
We purchased this item because our busy puppy is constantly chewing our clothes or causing trouble in the house. I was skeptical that it would work, but we put about 1 cup of food in the ball 3 times a day and it keeps him intellectually stimulated for at least 1/2 hour eat time. He loves the toy. He pushes it all over the house and gets immediate satisfaction. The toy needs to be screwed together - it does not snap together. And this is a little tricky when it's full of food. In future iterations it would be nice if the toy snapped together rather than screwed. The seal needs to be cleaned regularly to keep it in optimal condition because our dog really gets the toy a work out. I do find it quite noisy, but it's almost a satisfying sound because at least it means the puppy isn't chewing a hole in my underwear. Overall - great toy. Also great for dogs that are prone to bloat. This really slows down the feeding time. Beware - you will find random bits of kibble about your house.
My JRT loved this toy. I did have to trim some of the end out to get the treats to come out, but this is a nice one because it's not as loud as the Kong Wobbler. More fun to eat dinner from here than a boring dog bowl!
"Best treat ball for food"
Originally Submitted on 11/17/2008 (old site) - - - - - When Premeir presented this product for inclusion in the catalog, I was a little skeptical. I took it home to my old black lab who doesn't play to much anymore, and after a few minutes Saba was wagging his tail, and skooting it around to get his food. It is so great to see him excited about playing. His reward is his food.
"Not worth it"
I purchased this because my dog loves rolling around his kong to get treats out. He is pretty lazy so I got this for his food. He did enjoy it, however the pieces do not stay together. A few nudges with his nose and it would come apart, spilling the food everywhere. He is on a limited ingredient diet and his kibble is a very expensive vet formula. He also can only have sweet potatoes. I chopped up an entire bag of them for the first use, figuring it would save me from having to keep refilling it. When I turned my back for a few minutes I then turned back to see it pop open and he gulped down every last piece before he could stop him. After twisting it a few times I realized it doesn't stay closed and with just a few pushes it comes undone. I'm not returning it, since it would cost me over half of it's price to ship it back. Pick another toy! The orange ball with the little Swiss cheese looking holes (it only has one hole where treats dispense) is so much better and way cheaper. Were sticking with that.
I loved the idea of this. It made my dog really work for her food. she is a dog who needs a job and this provided her with a great outlet. I would like to see this made of stronger material as she has broken 2 already from dropping it to get the kibble out.
"My Dog Loves It!"
My dog absolutely adores this ball. It is easy to fill with kibble. After 3 weeks of use we have found a few draw backs. A few times he has managed to get it open and chewed around the edges. Thankfully I caught him and it still works. If you have hardwood floors, you might find it to loud. We have not restricted it to times when we are not home.
Love this product,It really turned my dogs life around. She is older and was becoming a real couch potatoe w/ very little activity. I got her this Ball to slow her feeding down and make her move a bit. I could not be happier with the results she's lost 7lb and is a ,lot more active.
