3/4" x 8½' cotton lead with trigger bull snap.
The best thing about cotton lead ropes are easy to repair! Look on Google for tutorials on braiding a crown knot. You can replace a snap, shorten to desired length, fix a fraying end. To keep it from unraveling, I take a piece of the little white string from a feed sack, quadruple it, tie it as tightly as I can about and inch above the end of the braid. Simple, no rope burns, long lasting, only lead ropes I buy.
Easy to get on and off halters. Snap is very strong. However I've had it for about 6 months and the end is starting to fray. However its strong and very soft to the hands.
