Good For Sm/Med Fowl
Reviewed By:  SustainableYieldPoultry (Arnold, CA)
I bought 4 of these last summer, and for the price, if you have small/medium fowl they are of good quality & value. If you have LF Exhibition poultry, the boxes are too Marans and Australorps don't fit, but the EE, Sussex and Wyandottes do and will use them. The directions are not good, so here are some tips. The screws easily strip, so do not use electric drivers, they give you extra small ones and nuts which is a plus, but I found the best way to mount the short arms to the long arms which made it more stable, required two additional long screws (labeled #2) that were not included. There are only two brackets included, but the center divider also has holes so a third bracket can be obtained at a hardware store to make mounting more stable. Also when attaching brackets, there is a gap between the top and bottom screw that bugged me. It is created because the roof overhangs the upper hole, but not the lower. I used a couple of washers to fill the void. I do not know if it mattered, it was just a personal preference. Total assembly time took just under an hour each. You may need to spend a little time looking at the pictures on the box and instructions to see how the brackets go; easy to get backwards if you don't. I would recommend, and if larger boxes were offered for the bigger birds, I would purchase more.
