How to measure goat for blanket: Back Seam measurement is from base of neck to base of tail.
Depth (or drop) is from spine to even with belly (not below).
Length is measured from center of chest, around the side to end of rump.
Wonderful product! I bought the largest and its almost too small for my Boer wether however it does fit around his fat belly. and the velcro (hook and loop) is super strong! Horseware Ireland has the BEST products on the market! My goat tried his darnedest to rip this blanket and he was not successful! Even the horses couldnt rip it when they bit the goat! 100% waterproof and tough as nails! The only thing I would like to see is a heavier fill for super cold nights.
It was hard to estimate the correct size so I went with the correct back length and crossed my fingers. After receiving it, I had to adjust the size to the smallest I could make it since it is pretty much too big but somehow it stays on her, probably because I have a t-shirt on her underneath. It is not a very thick blanket but seems strong. If you have a dairy goat, a size XXL should work.
Product is durable, fits the goat very well. Easy to take off and put on. Wethers and bucks will have problems with center velcro strap.(urinating on it)
