I had read the review stating the cats tore these mats apart quickly. I was purchasing for a dog and they do like to scratch before lying down. I used both mats, one on top of the other within a pillow case and put it in his bed. They made an extremely soft mattress and he loves it. He's older and needs something to ease stress on joints - these worked perfectly. They are wonderful but do need a cover of some kind.
My cats love these. I got these especially for my 21 year old cat that wants to stay warm and it works, plus her shedding is bad, she it keeps this in check also!
I purchased these for the cats at my place of employment, we have 80 cats that do taste testing of cat food and treats. Within a matter of a few hours, they had them shredded up.The pads do not have a cover on them, so once the cats got their nails in them, they where pulling off big wads of the fiber,their rooms looked like someone dumped a box of brillo pads all over the floor(I purchased the charcoal colored).
