I have a hard time finding WIDE collars for my narrow necked Irish Setter. He needs 16" collar, and it is hard to find -even in 1" width. This 2" width is wonderful. Especially great when I have him on his aerial trolley tie out.. as it supports his neck when he gets silly on the tie-out over a squirrel, etc. As for excess "tail"... I just use a zip tie through one of the other holes and secure it to the metal tag ring. Easy to snip when I want the collar removed and super cheap to reinstall. When you have a unique dog.. you improvise :-)
Although the collar construction is very nice,I cant get the "tail" or excess material to stay tucked in! Its very frustrating because the collar is useless to me partially hanging off the dog. Given the other reviews, I'm inclined to believe it may have been defective.
I ordered the berry colored one for my bully and she absolutely loves it. Very sturdy and comfortable for her. I would recommend for any large breed dog. I love it and also got a nice tag from here as we'll all for a fabulous price
