This halter just earned a permanent hook in my tack room. My gelding got himself in a predicament yesterday while tied. Fortunately he was wearing this halter when he set back. While he's never ever given me a reason to believe he would need this safety feature, I would rather the halter give then part of my horse's body. The leather snapped and he was freed safely. I'm here today to buy a replacement crown, because this halter potentially saved my horse from serious injury.
I have gone through THREE gatsby break-away halters (all of which had problems with their metal clips breaking) and only one of the Jeffer's halter. Though the clips don't seem heavy weight, they are more durable than more expensive halters, I am back to order more for my other horses!
