My six year old Black Labrador has had it for about 4 years ,loved it and played with it all the time. Sons 1 year old Amrican Eskimo came over today and tore out the grunting thing be fore we saw her with it. It was very well built, but my sons dog is like a little chain saw.
Our dog received one of these hedgehogs two years ago for Christmas. Even though it no longer grunts or squeakes our dog still loves it. This is his favorite toy. This is the one he chooses to meet us at the door with when we return home. We may have only been gone 5 or 10 minutes but he still greets us with his prized possession. The only damage that Hedgie has received is from a pupy we took in several months ago. He is VERY rough on toys. The damage was minima. I took a needle ^ thread & he is almost as good a new.
This is a cute item and we have two and am purchasing another today. Our two dogs, both past and present love them, especially our Husky girl. She loves to gnaw on it. It is no doubt her favorite toy, and the two we have at home no longer grunt or squeak. Our previous Husky boy(now deceased) broke the sound makers from chewing on it, so though the toy itself is durable enough to toss about and gnaw on, the soundmakers are not. The face of the toy is less durable than the body.
