I raise dogs. I buy permectrin by the quart. It has replaced all other dog products including Frontline and Advantix and all the usual others. I put the liquid full strength into a 1/2 gallon hand pressurized pump sprayer and use coarsest thickest stream. I apply a 3 second spray (1 tbsp)from the top of the head to the base of the tail in medium dogs. Twice as much for big dogs. And one teaspoon (1 sec spray) for pups 8 weeks and above. Its oily and stays in place for about a week. It has an odor so you can tell if it is still in place or needs respray. It is effective against biting flies, ticks, fleas and mites. Useful adjunct for mange. I consider it to have a wide safety margin and in some cases I spray my hands rather than the puppy and then massage a light hand rub next to the skin if the pup is small.
