Mane & Tail Conditioner/Skin Treatment Hair Growth Producer
Use as a leave-in conditioner/detangler. Promotes mane and tail hair growth. Use on damaged, chewed-off tails to help grow length back. Enhances fullness, condition and retains the length of long tails. Eliminates grass and urine stains. It is also a dermatitis treatment recommended by veterinarians for a variety of skin problems including: fungus, rain rot, girth itch, scratches, dandruff and tail rubbing.
This product is great! I use it on a mare that is the itchiest horse i know! She rubs out her tail and fur and it looks awful! We tried MTG and it helped so much! Her tail is looking bigger and fuller, and her coat looks healthier and fuller in spots where she rubs. Its great for if you live in the south where horses are often attacked by bugs and are subjected to lots of marshy and rainy areas. I love this product, but beware. It smells awful and it makes your skin really slippery/greasy.
This product works faster then anything else I have ever used to clear up rain rot and skin conditions caused by bacteria or fungus. But I would use it more carefully then noted on the instructions as I have notice on two of my horses that the skin on their muzzles peeled after rubbing their legs where it was applied and one horse acted like it burned their skin slightly if I rubbed it in heavily on their skin and used it everyday. I have found a light application once a week after the horse is clean and dry keeps their skin free of problems and causes no irritation. It is a great product for quick results though and I would still recommend its use as it is the most effective of many of the products I have tried. Just be careful as the other reviewer noted it is strong.
My horse suffers from summer bug allergies. This product really helps where he rubs off hair. Grows it back fast, heals rain rot and other skin conditions. I tried the "generic". It didnt work! MTG is a godsend for my horses problems. He does have sensitive skin but I have not had a problem. It will cause sunburn if used on white areas
