I had Opossums and Raccoons getting into my chicken pens and Coyotes getting closer and closer. Purchased 4 Nite Guards, screwed them to a plastic bucket then turned the bucket upside down over a wooden stake. I now leave the pen open at night--NO Problems!! Coyotes now stay in the woods too.
I bought four and installed them at the height recommended for coyotes. I moved them around every few days as instructed. After about four weeks, I found fresh coyote scat within a few feet of one of the lights. Sixty-four days after installation (just past the guarantee period), I had coyotes take out 8 chickens in one night. My neighbor saw the coyotes, so I know what did the damage. I just can't recommend these lights.
I bought Nite Guards and my husband said "they will never work"! I have had my goat herd for over a year, we have yet to see any type of predator. We certainly hear coyotes almost every night but they don't come around here. I put up 4 Nite Guards (N,S,E, & W), they are blinking as strong today as they were the day we put them up over a year ago. Great, Great for livestock protection!!!!!
