This pad is GREAT< small enough to fit right under the important part of the saddle. My horse doesn't care if I tighten the girth a bit more with that initial cinching when he wears this pad. I can easily grip it and pull it up off his withers after the saddle is set on, because of it's small size. I put it over a waffle pad and just this pad for everyday, for show I use waffle pad, this cushion, then show blanket. Using this gives a nice, closer contact feel with riding than a big pad. LOVE IT!
This is a terrific pad for protecting your hunter's back. Not too thick - yet offers some of the best protection. Really seems to help diffuse the weight of rider/saddle. I highly recommend - quality product.
Great Price AND Pad! We've got TWO retired thoroughbred race horses, both SEVERELY underweight when we saved them. This pads worked great for saddle pressure with both! Now even after full recovery of one (still working the other up slowly) we are still using the pad & it seems to make a wonderful difference with both older horses! Only reason i dont show 5 stars is because id like to see one with a TACKY-PAD underneath.
