Of course you need a spur strap, how else would you wear them? Anyway, I never would've wanted "flexible" spurs but these are wonderful! They add the right amount of, I guess, "punch" to make my horse mind. They're a great price & I really like them, compared to my stainless steel ones! I just wish that they came in different like spur types, I would definitely like these spurs with a roller on the end!
