These boxes are wonderful. With regular scooping, they last 3-4 weeks, saving lots of time and work that would have gone into scraping and washing a plastic litter box, not to mention eliminating the danger of clogged drains from clumping litter being washed down the drain. Another plus is that the material does seem to absorb or dissipate odors. (Of course, I use a baking-soda-based, fragrance-free litter.) And I also like the fact that the material is recycled and biodegradable. I swear by these boxes. They're worth every penny.
It is appropriate to rave about these boxes; they effectively release the cat-owner from the tyranny of the stinky, scratched-up plastic box. I'm SO glad those days are gone! But wonderboxes are currently priced higher than many people can easily afford. (Add to that the price of the wheat-based litter I buy in 40lb. bags, and the cedar shavings in 17lb. bags, and...well, I refuse to do the math yet, because it would only worry me.) But the above-mentioned combination makes for a positively NEUTRAL home environment, which you can then customize yourself with tropical mango, apple & cinnamon, etc. air sprays and such. (Remember, of course, not to spray any such stuff very near the noses of your kitties!) One more thing: I scoop often, I have three young cats who share two wonderboxes between them and, take note: the boxes DO become wet after about two weeks (for it to be otherwise would truly be miraculous.) But, use them on hard plastic mats and clean-up is pretty simple (particularly if you have a garden hose and some Dawn.) So, yes, wonderboxes DO deserve 5 stars, but I'm still hoping that a 6-star product will come along some day. Until that time, my back porch is stacked with kitty's wonderboxes. Good day!
These litter boxes are the best!! The first time I tried them, I was very skeptical. Now a few years later, I am a huge fan & I recommend them all the time!
They extend the life of your kitty litter by controlling the odor. Pretty much, the litter you put in at the beginning of the month, will be the litter you toss with the box at the end of the month!! Just clean out as usual in between & you are good.
They are well worth the extra expense, as you really do save on not having to buy kitty litter all the time.
