I recently purchased a quarter horse gelding that was being ridden with this style of hackamore. I wasn't able to get it as part of the purchase agreement, and was very happy to find out that they were available for such a low cost at Jeffers.
On a whim I tried it on my paint/arabian mare over the weekend, and it was the best ride I have had with her in the 3+ years she has been with me! She was very comfortable and calm. I even took her through some new areas and she was suprisingly relaxed.
I now have two horses that can be ridden with this hackamore. This one is much softer and more giving/flexible than the others that I have looked at. I couldn't possibly be any happier with this product and how my horses have responded to it. I love it almost as much as my horses do, and the girls at the barn are wanting to try it on their horses now after seeing how well my mare responded to it.
I teach alot of riding lessons and have people over to ride that are beginners and very inexperienced. I use these hackamores on all the horses who have beginners on thier backs. It saves thier mouth from the usual beginners tugging/pulling--and it's also easier to put on then putting a bit in thier mouth.
