I purchased one of these buckets over 3 years ago and it is still going strong. My sheep and goats and I would not survive the winter without it! It is easy to clean and I have never had the water freeze when it was plugged in (the critters unplug it from time to time). Even in below zero weather the water was warm enough for me to reach into the bucket to remove hay that dropped into it. I am thinking of purchasing another so I have two watering stations in the winter instead of just one. I love it!
These big tubs are heaven sent for me. In Ohio we have all sorts of winter weather. We kid out in January so having a bucket that isn't frozen for the girls to drink from is a great thing. The goats love having water all the time as do I since I am not chipping ice off the buckets. We have five of these that we use and they are worth every penny. The kids even love to lie around them on cold nights you see a layer of goats surrounding the buckets. Its nice to have water available all the time especially to the nursing mothers. The vet even likes to see these in use as he has issues with pregnant goats not getting enough water when it gets so cold outside. I bleach these out about every two days to keep the junk and algae from building up. Even with the extra shipping it is still cheaper to order thru Jeffers.
I purchased this for my barn as my two horses share a run in shed. 2/3 of the way through winter my horses are drinking lots of water (peace of mind for me) and has survived some -15 degree nights. Will probably buy another one next year to have a second
