I purchased several of these gates because I liked the idea that they varied in lenghth and could fit a variety of my doorways. They work just fine for my old dog who doesn't test the gate. They provide a good visual barrier to keep her off of steps and dangerous areas for her and her bad hips. However, my younger puppy jumped on them and quickly learned they would pop out of the doorway and fall over. They don't contain him at all. I came home to find trash shredded everywhere because he had knocked the gates down. A good solution for well-behaved dogs, but not so great for the rambunctious puppy!
