I bought this for my mare who has always hated being saddled due to her flat withers. All saddles pinch her, and slip side to side. I found some riders tightening her saddle too tight to accommodate the slippage and decided something had to be done. Even though this pad is in the English section I use it under my Western saddle pad, and this pad works. Heavy set riders don't budge their saddle w/ this pad, the back of the saddle no longer sits up in the air after tightening. Best of all, no more painful looks from my sweet mare, she stands completely calm, and walks out eagerly.
