Cleverly designed to stop bugs from crawling up and into the bowl. No need to worry about remembering to add water. Just put in the food, place on the ground. It couldn't be easier.
There are a couple of stray cants that I feed outside and the ants have been a nightmare until I got thise bowls. Now no problem unless massive ants. Then I sprinkle ant killer around the area on ground, hose it so safe for cats and bowls work great again. NEED SMALLER BOWLS FOR CATS THOUGH.
I;ve used the bowls for over 7 years, they are perfect! As long as you do not put against a structure or let a leaf fall on the bowl, no ant, bug or spider knows how to get into the bowl.
Daily human is needed to keep leafs off, but if flat ground and no structure touching, there simply will be no bugs or ants. It's that simple!
Love them!
I've used this and really like this bowl. If I leave the bowl in just one place for a few days, it seems as though the ants figure it out. But, if I move it just a bit, it really does "Fool-A-Bug!"
