The metronidazole is a fantastic product, and has worked to cure giardia infections. Way better than trying to fix this type of problem with fenbendazole!
I would not recommend the cephalexin, as the capsules have a VERY strong odor of sulphur. This is something I haven't found present in the pill form of cephalexin I get from my vet.
The Fish Flex cephalexin is 1/3 the price though, so it was hard not to try it. Unfortunately, when we really needed it, vomiting occurred regularly. As a result, for future needs, I've already ordered a larger supply from the vet at the higher price. :(
I actually HAVE used these on label and these are the best quality and lowest price compared to the powders and tabs in the pet stores. But is so handy to have on hand if you know what you are doing, to start treatment when you can't get to the vet. I can't emphasize strongly enough though, that using these is merely a stopgap measure to getting professional help!
More costly than I might be able to get otherwise, but my need was urgent, and Jefferspet is reliable and overnighted it, and so we staved off the infection quickly. Now I know it's available, I'll order to make sure I always have some on hand.
