Durasole Sole Hardener

Alvin Farrier Supply

An Iodine based preparation formulated to harden the equine exfoliation sole. It is extremely effective and does not affect the proximal sensitive sole. It works by swelling and thickening the cell membranes of the exfoliating sole. A little bit goes a long way.

Recommended by Vets for thin soled or bruised feet!

Durasole Instructions

  • Apply a Thin Line from Heel to Heel
  • Use a old tooth brush or small brush to smear product over sole and frog, if needed.
  • Repeat daily for 1 to 2 weeks until the sole is hard enough.
  • Repeat once or twice a week for maintenance.

Quality of Life enhancer!!!!
Reviewed By:  Victory Alliance Ranch (Huntsville, AL)
We have several rescues and Off the Track Thoroughbreds - one in particular has been plagued with laminitis and periodically goes lame walking on hard surfaces - our farrier recommended Durasole and within less than a month, she is SOUND and is doing extraordinarily well. We are about to start this on several of our OTTBs to see if we can harden their soles to be able to finally go barefoot. Durasole is awesome!!!!

Best hardener

I absolute love this stuff, and always keep some laying around. I've used it on my old appy for years. I recently rescued a TB who had horrid feet, and both the vet and farrier told me he needed a full set of shoes, probably for life. He could barely walk on pavement, he was so sore. I opted to keep him barefoot for a bit and treat his feet with Durasole daily. Within a month, he was walking happily on concrete and the gravel driveway. I'm amazed at how much better his feet are now!

All of my horses transitioned from shoes to going barefoot. Some it took longer than others to "toughen up" their soles. Some stayed so tender they couldn't walk across the driveway but after one week, their feet have completely hardened. I wish I would've known about this stuff sooner!
