The rectangular box at the throatlatch was too wide to fit between my horses narrowly-set jaw bones, so the collar could not be sufficiently tightened. He immediately went back to cribbing, even with the collar tightened as much as physically possible. An expensive mistake for me...
I was very hopeful for this collar after reading the reviews. It doesn't seem that one size fits all, though. The "block" at the bottom was too wide for the dainty jaw of my 14+ H Welsh cross. I had to return for another Miracle collar which is offered in different sizes. If Dare ever made a thinner unit, I would try it again.
I adopted an OTTB that came with one of the Dare Collars. This collar is the best and well worth the money. Made extremely well and doesn't cause sores or wear marks like other collars. I highly recommend this collar to even the most hard core cribbers. This collar will stop them.
