Just use cardboard

I used this pad three times now it just collects dust. It is stiff like cardboard, the supports (raised areas) are barely raised, not enough to make a difference and the fleece is very thin. I don't think you should have to break in a saddle PAD (as in padding) but that is just me. Would not recommend.

I like this saddle pad

This saddle pad is a little stiff when you first buy it and it is a little thin. I have a blue wool pad that i put under mine to keep the fleece nice and to add some padding. From the first time i rode my mare in this pad she felt beter. She just moves more fluently and this pad supports her withers really nice. It stays clean forever, i have had mine over a year, and have used it 4-5 times per week, i have never washed it or cleaned it in any way and it still looks almost brand new! My only problem with this pad is sometimes when i lope it slides forward and i just have to get off and readjust it, and before i go in the arena to run i have to adjust it, but that is my only problem.

I have used this pad for several years trail riding & my horses have yet to have any more sore backs.
