Oral tablets containing Nitenpyram for the treatment of flea infestation on dogs, puppies, cats and kittens 4 weeks of age or older and 2 lbs or greater body weight.
Fast acting--begins working within 30 minutes.
A single dose should kill the adult fleas on your dogs within 4 hrs and within 6 hrs on your cat. Safe for use in pregnant or breeding animals. May be used as needed, as often as once per day, whenever you see fleas on your pet.
As a cat rescuer, taking in a new cat can be problematic. One abandoned kitten can infest the entire household. So Capstar is something I now keep on hand. It is only meant to be an emergency shock treatment, and the animal must be dosed with a topical flea preventative within 24 hours. But to get rid of the ones on the animal at the time, it does exactly as advertised.
Jeffers price can't be beat. My vet charges $35 for a single dose of Capstar. For the same money,I can buy a whole 6 pack of the stuff from Jeffers, and still have enough left over for for a few catnip mice.
We take the horses and dogs and go camping or to rides for days at a time. The dogs get a capstar on the way home so that no fleas come home with us! Occasionally during the hotter days of summer we see fleas at home (lots of deer, squirrel and rabbit here), but after a capstar and a bath, they are gone. We don't need to use a year-round product, so why pay for something that you don't need? On average, I use 6 tablets a year(1 box) with EXCELLENT results - no fleas, not a spec of flea dirt. We are FLEA FREE!
Capstar is my "wonder pill" for my old German Shepherd!! Sadly, he loves to roam the 5 acres and some is very sandy and is a "FLEA MAGNET"!! I can put ANY spot on treatment on him and still have to use Capstar once a week or so as he gets hundreds of baby fleas on him from the woods!!! Thank God for an instant cure to help the long term products!!
