This is a cute toy and one of my boys loves talking toys. HOWEVER, if your pup is a serious chewer use this toy supervised. It has small batteries not much larger than watch batteries in it and my dog found them. They can be very dangerous if swallowed. My dog still loves these toys, I just can't allow him to have them without me watching. Use this toy as a tool to create bonding time with your pet.
These toys have endured 2 small, very tenacious dogs so far. Some of ours are no longer the best looking dog toys since they have been chewed on so much, but the real sounds are still working on the ones that I haven't washed. My current little mutt ADORES our game of 20 throws. She shakes these and digs at their sides like she is really getting another critter. Jeffers used to have a wider variety I think. The little white kitty (which is now terribly gray from being "LOVED" so much), wolf, and rooster are all super cute and have corresponding sounds. I really wish that we could have a couple more from which to choose. But until then, the duck and parrot will have to do! If you have a true chewer, these might not work for you. My current little "angel" does like to give extra attention to gnawing on the felt ears, noses, and feet. Not a huge deal to me if they get a little torn up. She isn't chewing on my furniture or anything else off limits because these keep her occupied. And, some of the toys we have must be close to 10 yrs old!
