This is our GSD's favorite toy! He loves to fetch and chew it. He also has flattened a couple with his strong jaws, thus removing the giggler. The nubs present the biggest problem because he chews them off and swallows them. So if it was lined with steel, one problem might be solved. LOL But without the nubs he wouldn't have anything to do with it.
I got this ball and I am not sure why they call it a giggle ball, it makes a pathtic sound and it is heavy (to heavy to really throw for the dog) and she just doesn't seem to really care about it. I would not pay the extra for this ball and just go with a regular one and save yourself the money.
I bought this ball for Charlie when he was only a few months old. He is now a 115 pd Chocolate lab mix and 3 yrs old and this is still is favorite toy. The little giggler noise maker is gone but it is the only ball he has not been able to destroy. We still play catch outside every day with it and when I tell him to find his giggle ball he knows exactly what I'm talking about. This ball and the treat ball I bought at the same time have been giving Charlie hours of entertainment and joy!
