A simple and easy-to-use tool for band castration. The California Bander is a stainless steel tool which applies surgical tubing for fast and easy bloodless castrating. A foam coating on the handle helps hand stay comfortable.
6" natural latex bands have an aluminum T-clip attached which fits into a slot on the tool. The band is stretched around the scrotal sack, locked back into the clip and the tool is removed. The band stays on for approx. 20 to 30 days. Works with all ages and breeds. California Bander is boxed with instructions.
We used this to castrate six large goats we got from a dairy, all about 8 months in age. It was pretty easy to use and there were no complications with any of them. They were back to their normal routines 12 hours after banding. Took about 2 months for everything to dry up and fall off. Would definitely recommend this product. Worked great for us!
I had two buck goats whose services I no longer needed but my children would not allow me to sell them. I was afraid to cut them and there was NO WAY a cheerio would fit..this was an excellent alternative. Was slightly tricky to learn how to use but after practicing on a pair of socks, I got it figured out.:) Worked perfectly.
