"Tri-Band" Bander

Wadsworth Mfg.

The most humane method for castrating calves. Designed for bloodless castration of bull calves from newborns up to 3-4 months of age (up to approx. 350 lb). "Tri-Band" band opens to 2.5"x2.5"x2.5", larger than standard castrating bands, and are 2X stronger. Their flat edge prevents them from rolling off the applicator. Requires no tightening of any kind - simply open, put in place, and release.

"Tri-Band" bands also work on standard pliers and are twice as strong as green bands.

A 2 dose Tetanus Toxoid Vaccine or CDT is recommended.

Replacement Bands

These bands are by far the best to use for removing horns on goats. They are stronger and do not roll up the horn like the green bands do. We have been using them successfully without notching or tape. Also prefer them for castration, the kids seemed less stressed after applying them and there was no crying. These are the only bands we will use now.

Plastic??
Reviewed By:  D Shaw (South Paris, Maine)
Just got the bander delivered today. I was dismayed to find it is made of plastic! I had borrowed a bander from my neighbor in the past, and it was metal. I just assumed this one would be. If you look closely at the photo on the website, I guess you can tell it's plastic, though it doesn't say so. I just doubt it will hold up very well. I do like very much that it is made in the US though!
