I didn't see my horse play with it but it was gone off the string the day I came back. He played with it for a while until he stepped on it and I cant seem to get it bad to normal. It is now just in the corner o the stall unplayed with.
Hi took a short braided strap and hung the jolly balls on the stall divider grill...right up front by the door. They absolutely LOVE them like this. They sleep with their nose on the balls and when bored, they grab the strap lifting the ball way up on the grill and then dropping it. Great toy!
My gelding is always getting into something so I thought 'hey, maybe I should get him a toy'. Well, just like the cat it's whatever you're not expecting that makes the best 'toy'. Light cords, hay string, you name it. He does play with it because I will come out and find it either squished or flung out of the stall. Hang it from the ceiling if you can, that made the most sense for us.
