The sling works ok as long as you can get the straps wrapped around the front and rear legs. If the calf is real vigorous this can be difficult.

I use this for my goats. Its awesome to be able to have them in something secure while I am holding them up in the air to get a birth weight on them. Having the birth weight helps me to monitor if they are growing right and if they need any assistance with feeding. THe size of the sling is helpful because it can be used for tiny babies as well as larger kids/adolescents saving you money because you dont need to slings.
